Although former WWE wrestler/Drax actor Dave Bautista has been one of the more vocal backers of recently fired Guardians of the Galaxy series director James Gunn in light of controversial tweets from his past resurfacing — fellow Guardians actress and recent Crazy Rich Asians star Michelle Yeoh recently voiced her opinion — and it’s clear that she’s Team Gunn as well.
“I was shocked,” the 56-year-old actress, who played Aleta Ogord, Ravager captain and wife of Stakar Ogord (Sylvester Stallone), said in a recent interview with Yahoo UK. “[Shocked and] horrified that we can allow something like that to happen. You’re talking about things that he said in the archives. If he had said it yesterday, or today, or something like this then you can make a big fuss but why dig up something now? I don’t understand at all. It’s so unnecessary, what good does it do?”
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 production remains on hold while Disney and Marvel Studios search for a suitable replacement for Gunn.
Do you think Yeoh has a point? Should people be held accountable for everything they said in the past or should Gunn be allowed another chance to bring Guardians to the big screen? Let us know in the comments.
